Infinite Ocean of Love

by Sophie on December 18, 2011

Just in case I did not quite get the message last Thursday when my heart was melting with joy into the Heart of God in the presence of Anam Thubten and his Buddhist teachings, tonight I find the same message expressed in Sufi terms but with exactly the same words by a Sufi spiritual teacher I know on FaceBook (Sheikh Ahmad Dede Pattisahusiwa):

“Truly in the heart there is a void that cannot be removed except with the company of Allah.

And in it there is a sadness that cannot be removed except with the happiness of knowing Allah and being true to Him.

And in it there is an emptiness that cannot be filled except with love for Him and by turning to Him and always remembering Him

And if a person were given all of the world and what is in it, it would not fill this emptiness.

Go for it: the Divine Ocean of Love is calling us to surrender our heart at this time of year. Emotions are a part of it but not all of it. Spirituality is a part of it but not all of it. Sleep and dreams are a part of it but not all of it. It’s all of that and so much more. This is a portal time. A chance to go deeper, further, beyond what you know and what you think is possible.

Even if you think you are enlightened,  the ocean is infinite and there are so many portals, so many layers, so many opportunities to shed increasingly subtle levels of attachments, fears and loneliness.

This time of year is an invitation to go beyond words, into the Heart of God, into the arms of the Divine Feminine and to let your Heart merge into the Ocean of God. The winter Solstice is a portal to surrender. When you set a strong intention to let it happen, it often does.
