Blessings Upon Blessings

by Sophie on October 6, 2010

My Sufi teacher always ended his teaching and our conversations by asking me to bless him and his family. Considering the degree of his knowledge, I always expected HIM to send blessings to me and my family to help us along and to enlighten me.

But he was adamant: “Blessings upon blessings, we all make each other stronger”.

Eventually I got it and I started offering blessings to him and his family at the end of our conversations. Blessings that he graciously, lovingly and wholeheartedly returned to us of course! Together we raised each other’s vibration and the vibration of our families.

Who do you bless often? Does it improve your life and the lives of others?

I bless my amazing husband for his loving devotion to us, his strength and vision. I bless our children, each one, their own beautiful being. I bless my parents for their unconditional love. I bless you, dear, Sophie for your healing. I bless my patients as they enter the room for being here. It does raise my own vibration every time I bless someone.

I send blessings and Reiki to family and friends quite often. That is one thing that I like about doing Reiki, is that as I send it to others, it first comes through me as a vessel of healing. As I help others, I help myself.

My sister now has a Level 2 certificate in Reiki and I have seen such major changes and a wonderful softening in her since she received the attunements. She was even able to quite smoking which she has never succeeded at before.

I think that is why Reiki has spread so widely: it only works if the practitioner receives it first and fills his or her cup full before looking after others. It is a lesson that most carers and all the healers I know need to learn again and again so having it built into the way the modality works is genius in my opinion!
And yes, one of the side effects of good energy work is often a wonderful softening of people who had been hardened …. by hardship … or abuse or neglect. Reiki is pure love. Love softens the heart, makes life better all round.
I love the comments you post here Patricia! You are so honest and always willing to change and share. A girl after my own heart! ;o)
